+--------------------------+ Wed Oct 23 03:38:20 UTC 2024 « Well, there's the second patch for the 12th upload of the Plasma6 build which I thinker of, in the form a tarball named plasma6-patch-20241023.tar (958.52 MB) which contains both the x86_64 packages built by myself and the modified sources, including the upstream tarballs. You will find it for the next 30 days on the following link: https://easyupload.io/w4l4e9 The SHA256 sum of the file is as bellow. Code: 9381f26d0234e981c49c046e0bf0acc3306cf7cfe37af8a5d93b28e81812a9b0 plasma6-patch-20241023.tar If you wonder what the heck I put in this quasi 1GB sized tarball presented you as patch, well... I have for you the new released KDE Plasma 6.2.2 , also an update for again new released oxygen-icons 6.1.0 and the expected rebuilds for the last Poppler incident. Namely, the KItinerary, Cantor, KDevelop, Okular, Calligra, Krita and Labplot got rebuilds, and the problem unstable kid of this build - Kile got a new pull from the master branch of its GIT repository, so let's name this an upgrade. Of course, there are also the usual rebuilds for the Frameworks components, namely kfilemetadata and its counterpart kfilemetadata-5 . Finally, the Neochat got a rebuild for fixing the missing install/slack-desc on the package. That being said, permit me to say Many Thanks to everybody who contributed in a way or other to the progress of this Plasma6 build. As usual, I recommend to (re)install/upgrade these packages with the now classic command: Code: upgradepkg --reinstall --install-new *.t?z Have your fun! » -- LuckyCyborg https://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/slackware-14/building-the-plasma6-for-slackware-current-in-the-ktown-style-a-build-based-on-the-alienbob%27s-ktown-4175735773/page57.html#post6532541 +--------------------------+ Wed Oct 16 06:46:47 UTC 2024 « Well, there's the 12th upload of the Plasma6 build which I thinker with, as usual in the form of a two huge tarballs, one being plasma6-packages-x86_64-20241014.tar (1.2 GB) which contains the x86_64 packages built by myself, the other being plasma6-source-20241014.tar (2.11 GB) which contains the complete sources of this build, including all source tarballs and scripts. You will find them for the next 30 days on the following link: https://easyupload.io/m/mnw407 The associated SHA256 checksums are as bellow: Code: fbf48b485dc18de15f1e41b6ee62465dfc244b89a20590d698192feca798f614 plasma6-packages-x86_64-20241014.tar ba480c35f3cb20f92f82497974d4db80e8e1299e0e41eadc27bcb5a03613fcee plasma6-source-20241014.tar As news, this time there are the KDE Plasma 6.2.0 and KDE Applications 24.08.2, along with the KDE Frameworks 6.7.0 and various other updates. Please note that this is an Yet Another Full Rebuild with many new packages, so a (re)installation/upgrade of all packages is strongly recommended, using the now classic command bellow: Code: upgradepkg --reinstall --install-new *.t?z A note is needed for the setup of the new power-profiles-daemon present in the /deps , which is a system wide daemon. It needs to be integrated in the init scripts. So, you will need to add into /etc/rc.d/rc.local the snippet bellow. Code: # Start the power-profiles-daemon: if [ -x /etc/rc.d/rc.power-profiles ]; then /etc/rc.d/rc.power-profiles start fi Also you will need to make an /etc/rc.d/rc.local_shutdown with the content bellow. Code: #!/bin/sh # Stop the power-profiles-daemon: if [ -x /etc/rc.d/rc.power-profiles ]; then /etc/rc.d/rc.power-profiles stop fi Please note that the shutdown sequence is NOT optional. So, please be kind to setup both the startup and the shutdown stages. The daemon itself is controlled via an init script named /etc/rc.d/rc.power-profiles which uses the daemon supervisor (included in Slackware) to manage it. And yes, it needs to be carefully supervised because it's effectively a systemd daemon, just like are the PipeWire daemons. With this, you have also a full example of usage of the daemon supervisor on init scripts, which is its original purpose. This being said, permit me to say many thanks to ZhaoLin1457 for his continuous early testing of these builds, to Monsieur GMGF for his many pertinent suggestions, to Signor Bas for his continued C/C++ support and to everybody else who contributed in a way or other on improving this Plasma6 build. And not lastly, many thanks to Mr. Volkerding, who fixed just in time that obnoxious QtDeclarative issue from Qt6-6.7.3, saving our sorry arse from the menace of around 30 semi-broken configuration pages.
